Enterprise Asset Management

Prior to the Enterprise Supply Chain Integration applications developed by Expinfo, the process of exchanging information between enterprise systems such as Oracle Financials, Datastream and Ariba was paper based and susceptible to error and major inefficiencies. Supervisors would perform a daily printout of control documents such as Purchase Requisitions and Stock Issue Reports, and the paper would move from department to department until the Purchasing and Accounts departments received it, re-entered requisition or transaction documents on their systems and approved them. Management had no easy way to enforce timely completion of important transactions such as Purchase Orders and no way to determine trends in resource usage and costs based on the requester of materials, the line of product or manufacturing facility.

The Enterprise Supply Chain Integration application has successfully automated the integration process between best of breed software applications, making the process paperless, efficient and traceable. Electronic documents and transactions requiring approval and transmission to other departments are now completely managed online and stored in a central database where they are readily accessible by the entire organization. With the help of a built-in reminder and escalation system, Plant management, Purchasing and upper management can keep on top of budgets and material usage, and the use of disparate systems for managing finance, maintenance and material and service purchases is no longer a major headache.

The system provides supervisors with a "to do" list or Inbox of material or service requirements or shortages, and purchase orders that are upcoming or in progress, and tracks all approvals, document transmissions and changes such as price and due date which might occur between entry of a requisition by the maintenance department, approval by purchasing and invoicing within the accounting system. Employees have easy access to track the progress of projects and related procurement activities, to ensure that all resources are available on time for project and product delivery. Compliance requirements such as manufacturer lot numbers and expiry information are accurately tracked across systems. Executives and Middle Management now has the ability to generate reports that highlight strengths and weaknesses of departments, suppliers and manufacturing lines. These reports help management to establish a clear focus on identifying and removing bottlenecks in business processes, and justifying further system improvements leading to increased productivity and Return on investment.

Additionally, given that the Supply Chain Integration software is a customizable SOA based interface process which allows the client to quickly establish new integration processes, Expinfo has developed and provided tools to facilitate the automated unit and end to end system testing of the connected systems.
